Don’t let the strip mall facade of this place fool you!! Cute place inside! Worth the stop! Ate here with friends for lunch June 2, 2023. First visit for all of us. Conveniently located right off the highway in south Lubbock with level, ample parking. Friendly staff and clean bathrooms. The pies and desserts looked amazing. We only sampled the cobbler and it was yummy. The lunch fare was hearty and delicious. Would definitely eat here again!!

My wife and I ate here for the first time for our anniversary, and went in with pretty high expectations based on other reviews. We were greeted right away and offered a table but chose a booth with no objection from our hostess. The place was packed around 7pm, and it still felt like we had our own area. Our waiter was attentive but not too chatty which was ok since I was hungry, she checked in often and made us feel important. As I said we had high expectations, and were not disappointed. My wife had a salad, and raved about how it was really good and hard to find a good salad at restaurants. I splurged and went for the steak finger plate, with fries as well as a burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked perfectly with a thick sour dough bun, and didn't disappoint. The sweet potato waffle fries were unique to me, and had good flavor aided by some type of seasoning it was cooked with. The steak fingers were really great and lived up to the reviews. They reminded me of Buddy's Drive In, in Andrew's, TX which is a great thing if you've been there. The fries were oily, and a big soggy but you're talking about homemade fried fries, you shouldn't expect anything less than some southern fried delights. Pair it with gravy and it cuts the oil down a bit, and makes it even better. Oh and they* have the sonic type of ice, my wife loves that kind so if that's you or your wife, consider it an added bonus. I would return and eat here again, if you're able to, go and try the food, the atmosphere, and watch a game on the TVs while you eat.

We tried this place for the first time this afternoon. It has a casual atmosphere. Good country cooking. Our waitress was efficient and the food was quick and good. Most everyone got the chicken fried steak which was a large sized portion. Cooked to perfection. I tried the adult grilled cheese. The “cornbread” that it was on was more like jalapeño toast. It wasn’t tea a cornbread consistency. The jalapeños didn’t overpower the sandwich, which is rare for that sort of sandwich in my experience. Kids portions are great! I have three kids: one got chicken strips, one a burger, and one a grilled cheese. All their food came out first which I appreciate! They enjoyed it very much. Fries are hand cut and fresh, along with homemade ranch dressing and good hot bar full of corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans. All around great experience, and great value for the price point! We would definitely visit again!

Very disappointed. Got the chicken fried chicken and the jalapeño "cornbread" with sweet potato fries. I guess they wanted me to leave because they brought my order in a to go bag. The "cornbread" is toast... The breading was overcooked and hardly any fries. I was really hoping this would be as good as the reviews reflect but it just wasn't good.

Looking for that Texas feel and good old country food???? THIS IS IT! The owner Abel and staff will make you feel like you’re hanging out in grandma’s kitchen. The food was amazing (just look at the pics)!!!! The appetizer, 5 large ghost pepper cheese sticks were delish. The double stacked hamburger with brisket and barbecue sauce with beer battered onion rings.... mouth watering!!! The steak fried strips with sweet potato waffle fries will keep me coming back. Let me not forget to mention the apple cobbler sent me back to being with family on the holidays. Every penny spent is totally worth it!!!!!
